Here’s a Jaguar XKSS from the 1950s.

Kinja'd!!!

Except that it’s not. It’s a brand new one. It’s not a replica either according to Jag because it’s a “continuation” so as to provide a template for the nine XK SSs that they are going to make as a replacement for nine lost in a fire in the factory. This particular one isn’t going to be sold.

The nine production cars won’t be replicas either as Jag are just continuing the original production run using the same parts, materials and techniques they would have used sixty odd years ago. So true to the originals will the new nine be that you won’t be able to drive any of them on the road in the UK. If you do want to argue the point with the authorities, Jaguar say that’s up to you and your pocket.

How much?

Don’t be silly. Having to ask such a question is proof that you can’t afford one and anyway they’ve all been sold

So how much? About £1m.

And yet for me, for some reason, it’s still not the same as having one from the 50's. If you put me in one and didn’t tell me I wouldn’t know, but as soon as you told me...

Get a hand built replica for less.

Bonus: You can actually use the replica often and not worry about shit...

Why can’t you drive it on the road? Those look like road legal tires to me.
